Album Notes
Lucky Dan (Randant) & Naked Mike (Newman) are proud to announce the release of their debut CD "This Time" on Wildstone Audio.

Randant and Newman have been making music with a variety of groups over the last several decades including Fairchild and the Lucky Dog Band. The current folk/rock/blues troubadours have been displaying their well-honed playing and vocal skills on a weekly basis at St. Louis area music hotspots since 2003.

"This Time" is a pleasing mix of original Randant/Newman tunes plus songs penned by such classic artists as JJ Cale, John Haitt and Lennon/McCartney to represent their first collaborative recording effort.

"This Time" by Lucky Dan Randant and Naked Mike Newman
I find it real difficult to pigeon-hole music or musicians. I can't use classifications such as "folk," "blues," "rock," or "folk/blues/rock." Pigeon-holing makes sense if you're in the business of trying to steer prospective music buyers to buy music. However, great songs and great music in general defy categorizations and pigeon holes. Great music stands on its own. Maybe that's the pigeon-hole to put Lucky Dan & Naked Mike's album entitled "This Time" : GREAT MUSIC.

As someone who grew up listening to a lot of GREAT MUSIC recorded and performed during the 60s and 70s, I know a thing or two about what's bad, good and GREAT. If you enjoy listening to excellent music, as evidenced by fantastic song writing, intelligent and inmage-laden lyrics, great musicianship, great vocals, great vocal harmonies, mature and seasoned instrument command and straigt forward "want-to-get-you-tapping-your feet" tunes, buy this CD. No, better yet, buy 10 of these CDs and share it with family and friends. There must be at least 10 people in this world who you know and/or love. You have an obligation to the ones you love to do that. Of the 14 tracks, 7 are original songs of the finest quality. The 7 others they "cover" are also done by them as if they wish they'd written them. That's the greatest compliment one musician can bestow upon anther: "I recorded your song, because, damn, I love it so much, I wish I'd written it." That's the clear sense the listener gets in listening to Lucky Dan & Naked Mike perform the 14 songs on "This Time." (Who in their right mind doesn't like the music of Taj Mahal?) So, if you're going to categorize this CD, put it in the GREAT MUSIC---MUST BE SHARED category.
