Album Notes
Leah was inspired by the power and permanence of the written word since she learned to hold a pen. After singing in the school choir and being exposed to rounds and harmonies she became captivated by song structure likening it to fashioning emotions into puzzle pieces to create a grand picture. She began to spend more time writing lyrics in the back of classrooms than keeping up with course work yet remained too shy and introverted to reach out to anyone to work with to make her recording music dreams a reality. Thinking the music industry was no place for shy people, she went to university for engineering for one year but quickly became disenchanted with the prestige of the academic world and began spending days in her car with a guitar while pretending she was attending classes.

Her first experience singing solo to a large audience was at a vocal competition during which she was suffering from a throat cold and a speaker malfunction caused most of her guitar playing to go unheard. The performance was met with bad reviews. Only one person backstage said that she loved her song. She credits this experience as being one of the best, most confidence building events of her life and decided afterward that she needed to be a performer because even if one person out of a hundred felt something from her music, it was more than she would connect with from her bedroom.

She sought out local artists to work and perform with and worked full time until she was able to fund her debut album entirely by herself. She has compiled into her debut album all of the best songs from her journey as a young songwriter just learning how to pluck the strings of a guitar to a young adult setting out into the world. In her songs you will find unique perspectives on lessons learned from all of the adventures in friendship and love that we go through as we grow up.
