Album Notes
LeeLee Robert was born and raised in Arizona where she started her musical career at age 14.
Over the next several decades, LeeLee developed a unique musical style that she calls “Cowgirl Jazz.” Cowgirl Jazz combines the subtle colors and textures of jazz and blues with the storytelling strengths of traditional Western music about laughter, landscape, and love.
In addition to being a gifted vocalist and musician, LeeLee is a storyteller who knows how to create “suspension of disbelief” for her audience. She combines a repertoire that transports her audience to a European jazz cabaret in one moment and Cochise’s Last Stronghold in the next; cornbread at The Hungry Boot Café in one song, and a sultry samba by the sea in the next tune.
LeeLee and her Cowgirl Jazz takes an audience through a musical experience that feels both western and worldly, nostalgic and contemporary, poignant and powerful.
