Album Notes
Jazz pianist Lenore Raphael has toured the world, wowing audiences with her technique and ability to make a jazz standard her own. Performing in such places as South Africa, Israel, Portugal and the USA in major jazz clubs, she has forged a remarkable career.
With influences of Oscar Peterson, Bud Powell and Bill Evans, she is one of the most "swinging" players of up-tempo tunes, but can mesmerize the audience with her emotionally charged interpretations of ballads.
As one critic has noted, even with her musical influences, one can always know when Lenore is performing...her style has become her own.
A triple threat musician, she is not only a consummate performer, but a highly praised teacher of jazz and also a producer of a popular jazz series and has her own radio show, "Lenore Raphael's JazzSpot" on purejazzradio.
