ABOUT THIS ALBUM

Album Notes
After two guitar heavy recordings Leo Cookman returns to the piano and for this album has brought his friends along. Inspired by Jazz of the 50's and 60's Leo wrote a new clutch of songs, performed them on a 120 year old Bechstein piano and recorded them onto tape. He then invited his friends at home and abroad to contribute their amazing talents to the new recordings which expanded the scope by some way. What started as a solo piano album now has a whole wealth of instruments (including a 150 year old church organ) and talent and a myriad of voices from across the globe to compliment the tracks. Recorded from the highest tech to iPhones to tape cassette this is Leo's first non-studio album and has a sound all of its own. At its core as usual is Cookman's trademark sensitive lyricism and genre hopping musicality.
So wave goodbye to the Blues and 'Good Morning Mr. Magpie' to Leo's 3rd full length LP.
