ABOUT THIS ALBUM

Album Notes
Nan NKama, the Susu word for “born for it,” is
is how I describe Les Bay-Fall de Guinea..
They are a group of young artists who play
together and live as a community of soul brothers born to
play music. The pride, talent and love they share for
each other and their culture is inspiring. They are
my teachers, allies, good friends and family. It has been a pleasure and an honor to be a part of the production of
this CD. The music on this CD is traditional music
handed down by the large Grio family of artists from
Guinee, West Africa and played on traditional instruments.
All proceeds from the sale of this CD go to the artists of
Les Bay-Fall de Guinee and their families.
Thank you for purchasing a CD.

Hope - DrumKarma

Exhilarating drumming with terrific balafon music.
What a dynamic ensemble! The drumming is exhilarating and the addition of the balafon is a treat. It was nice to go to their site and find that they're all young dedicated musicians who live and work together to produce music of this caliber! I'm very pleased to see that some of the younger generation is preserving the wonderful traditions of Guinean drumming.
