Album Notes
"The Mighty Quinn"

With times changin at today's speeds, Bob Dylan fans can now hear something new from Les Fradkin, who has found great success with
"Single" download sales across the Internet.

In this new Jangle Pop 2006 release, the "Jangleholic" and his trusty Rickenbacker 12-String are at it again! Les takes more than just a common tribute approach and reveals a unique perspective in the diverse influences that form the basis of a new sound for Bob Dylan's music. Byrds, Beatles, George Harrison, Phil Spector, Manfred Mann, Tom Petty and Dylan all blend together for a distinct journey through the Bob Dylan catalog. "This Wheels On Fire", "The Times They Are-A-Changin" will impress both Dylan and Byrds fans and Les' reading of "One Of Must Know" is a must hear as it takes Dylan into new sonic territory. Tom Petty fans will delight to his approach on "Absolutely Sweet Marie" and his fresh take on "Just Like A Woman" will suprise even those overly familiar with this Dylan hit.

His version of "Knockin' On Heaven's Door" has been called "spine-tingling" by Jackie deShannon and his take on "Like A Rolling Stone" shows another angle on the Dylan masterpiece.

Les's interpretation of "The Mighty Quinn" has grown to download hit status on Apple iTunes as his fifth biggest selling download.

Les is pictured on the front cover in Concert at the Tacaoma Dome in Tacoma, Washington with his "specially wired" Wilson Bros. VM-10 Guitar.

This release is pressed on special LIMITED edition PURPLE Colored CD's which reflect luminous violet in bright light.

A bit of BIO:

Les Fradkin is one of the guitar legends of the 1970's. As well as being a veteran member of The Original Cast of Beatlemania, he has found success as a recording artist, composer and producer with MGM Sunflower, ESP-Disk', Bell, Arista, RCA, and Laurie Records. Les has written the well known French hit "La Chansons Des Souvenirs" ("Song Of A Thousand Voices") for the famous Mireille Mathieu. He has played 12 and 6-string Guitar, Bass, Mellotron, and Piano on dozens of Top 40 hit records throughout the early 1970's , scoring many US and UK chart placings throughout his career.

Les Fradkin was also an original member / singer / guitarist for the pop group California on Laurie Records in the US and RCA Records in the UK for it's entire existence from 1973 through 1985. California had several chart records including the 1981 release "Summer Fun Medley"-a medley of Beach Boys hits, "Jeans On", "He's Almost You" (charting in the United Kingdom) and an appearance on the Dick Clark American Bandstand television show.

In 1976, Les was selected over thousands of other auditioning guitarists to appear in the original cast of the smash hit Broadway musical "Beatlemania" playing lead guitar and the part of "George Harrison" in New York City, Los Angeles and Chicago. Running for two and a half years from May 1977 thru October 1979, every show (including over 1200 in New York alone) was sold out and the musicians quickly became celebrities with magazine cover stories ("Newsweek","Time", "People", "Rolling Stone") and many major television show appearances. With his guitar-playing in the international spotlight from the show, Fradkin developed a cult following that has avidly followed his career and made him a celebrity among guitar fans.

He has enjoyed chart success on the net as well with his songs reaching mp3.com's 1 position 16 times! New Gandy Dancer Rock Magazine named Les' CD "A Day At The Beach" it's 2004 Album Of The Year. In addition, Les has performed with The Ventures as 2nd Lead Guitarist. Nokie Edwards of The Ventures has performed with Les on several occasions and is a featured guest on his "While My Guitar Only Plays" CD. In fact, Les has been acknowledged as a guitar virtuoso for over 30 years and he has been featured in issues of 20th Century Guitar Magazine, Pipeline and New Gandy Dancer Magazines.

Today, Les has released 15 solo CD's on his RRO Entertainment Indie label and has had over 300,000 downloads bringing him several substantial hits on Apple iTunes and other download sites across the Internet.

The "Jangleholic" rocks Dylan
One of the more rockin' Dylan tributes, Les Fradkin showcases his vocal & multi-instrumental skills with a multi-layered production that provides a unique perspective to these Dylan classics. Standout tracks are This Wheel's On Fire and One Of Us Must Know. Highly recommended.

Sets a new standard!
The very prolific singer/songwriter/musician, Les Fradkin, has released yet another disc on his RRO Entertainment label - a 10-song tribute to Bob Dylan entitled If Your Memory Serves You Well. Les’ Rickenbacker 12-string guitar jangles, chimes and rings on most of the tracks … and he gives his usual “sonic” treatment to a number of folk-rock favorites. Les’ version of “Knockin’ On Heaven’s Door” sets a new standard for this oft-covered tune. If Les Fradkin doesn’t have his finger on the pulse of the Baby Boomer pop/rock audience, I don’t know who does!

Another Tasty Collection From A Master Of Jangle & Chime
Les Fradkin's CD's always sound great. Very nice production. Of course, the magic is in the Rickenbacker 12 string. Les is a master, one of the few around that still features the Rickenbacker; with skill, taste and respect for its heritage. This collection is a nice showcase of Dylan tunes, some rather obscure. Obviously there are so many to pick from, we all could have chimed in (pun intended) and suggested which tunes to include. All in all, a worthy addition to the collection.
