ABOUT THIS ALBUM

Album Notes
Les Fradkin returns with "Strat Heaven"- a high energy program of rock guitar instrumentals. Many of these titles are being heard as guitar instrumentals for the first time!

Featuring covers by such notables as The All American Rejects, Fall Out Boy, Gnarls Barkley, Bon Jovi, Led Zeppelin and The Beatles, the pace never lets up.

Les' cover of The Beatles tune "Good Night" features The Vienna Symphony and showcases Les' considerable guitar prowess in an area previously stalked by Jeff Beck on "Where Were You" on the "Guitar Shop" album. Harmonics, whammy bar pyrotechnics and an all new special tuning offer something new for both Beatles fans and guitar fans alike.

Meanwhile, on Les' cover of the Gary Glitter smash "Rock & Roll, Part 2", Nokie Edwards of The Ventures makes, another guest appearance on a Les Fradkin CD with some lively duet guitar playing.

Les' new composition "Strat Heaven" continues to showcase the distinctive "surf rock" sound heard on previous releases from him such as "A Day At The Beach."

As an added bonus, Les has been known for duplicating classic rock songs of the past as he did with the "Golden Slumbers" Abbey Road Medley on "While My Guitar Only Plays". Here, he tackles the iconic Led Zeppelin smash "Stairway To Heaven" and recreates every nuance of Jimmy Page's original wall of guitars.

"Strat Heaven"- A must for all classic rock fans and all guitar instrumental fans.

Les Fradkin Bio:

Les Fradkin is one of the original members of the hit Broadway show "Beatlemania", a Guitar Synthesizer pioneer of the 1980's and is now a 21st Century innovator on the Starr Labs Ztar. A classically trained musician as well as being a rock guitarist, he has found success as a recording artist, composer and producer with MGM Sunflower, ESP-Disk, Bell, Arista, RCA, and Laurie Records. Les has written the well known French hit "La Chansons Des Souvenirs" ("Song Of A Thousand Voices") for the famous French songstress Mireille Mathieu and the Latin Pop icon Roberto Jordan ("Donde"). He has played Mellotron, 12 and 6-string Guitar, Bass and Piano on dozens of Top 40 hit records throughout the early 1970's , scoring many US and UK chart placings throughout his career.

Les Fradkin was also an original member / singer / guitarist for the pop group California on Laurie Records in the US and RCA Records in the UK for it's entire existence from 1973 through 1985. California had several chart records including the 1981 release "Summer Fun Medley"-a medley of Beach Boys hits, "Jeans On", "He's Almost You" (charting in the United Kingdom) and an appearance on the Dick Clark American Bandstand television show.

In 1976, Les was selected over thousands of other auditioning guitarists to appear in the original cast of the smash hit Broadway musical "Beatlemania" playing lead guitar and the part of "George Harrison" in New York City, Los Angeles and Chicago. Running for two and a half years from May 1977 thru October 1979, every show (including over 1200 in New York alone) was sold out and the musicians quickly became celebrities with magazine cover stories ("Newsweek","Time", "People", "Rolling Stone") and many major television show appearances. With his guitar-playing in the international spotlight from the show, Fradkin developed a cult following that has avidly followed his career and made him a celebrity among guitar fans.

He has enjoyed chart success on the net as well with his songs reaching mp3.com's 1 position 16 times! New Gandy Dancer Rock Magazine named Les' CD "A Day At The Beach" it's 2004 Album Of The Year. In addition, Les has performed with The Ventures as 2nd Lead Guitarist. Nokie Edwards of The Ventures has performed with Les on several occasions and is a featured guest on his "While My Guitar Only Plays" CD. In fact, Les has been acknowledged as a guitar virtuoso for over 30 years and he has been featured in issues of 20th Century Guitar Magazine, Pipeline and New Gandy Dancer Magazines.

Today, Les has released 17 solo CD's on his RRO Entertainment Indie label and has had over 320,000 downloads bringing him several substantial hits on Apple iTunes and other download sites across the Internet.

More Fender Magic!
Les Fradkin proves again that he is the Lon Chaney of the pop/rock universe - a master of disguises who is able to assume any recording personna he chooses to pursue! In his latest recording venture (and joined on one track by Venture Nokie Edwards), he straps on his Fender Stratocaster and takes the listener on a tour of his instrumental renditions of his own work and pop/rock tunes from the past four decades. The result is a vibrant collection of tunes that showcase not just Les\' guitar skills, but his composition, arrangement and production abilities.
Les clearly enjoys channeling his creativity through these tracks, and listeners - young and old - will certainly enjoy the results. Take a ride to Strat Heaven!
