A Sonic Marriage of Classical and Rock Music
Suite for Ztar and Orchestra in G Minor is just the latest evidence of the exceptional creativity of prolific musician Les Fradkin. Les has not only mastered the Starr Labs Ztar; he has taken the instrument to previously uncharted regions of the musical universe by blending his contemporary rock compositions with a number of Johann Sebastian Bach pieces that have been familiar to classical music enthusiasts for two centuries. The result is a sonic wave of classical and rock textures, as only Les Fradkin could intertwine these genres. Les' nimble two-handed playing style on the Ztar produces a full orchestra effect - much like ELO (without the vocals) and the Trans Siberian Orchestra. My wife is a classically trained violinist, and this disc hasn't left her car CD player since I "loaned" it to her. Whether you are a classical or rock music fan (or both), this eleven-track disc has something unique that all listeners will enjoy.
