Album Notes
When you hear jazz vocalist Leslie Lewis, you’ll immediately whisper to yourself "where has she been all this time?" That's the kind of power heard in her singing. That's the kind of voice she has! Her style harkens back to the be-bop era, her authenticity is immediate. Drenched in the language and tradition of her foremothers Ella, Carmen and Sarah, she has the ability to create an organic, non-affected delivery with true jazz rhythm and tension. Leslie has solid Jazz credentials; among the people she has worked with are the Cleveland Jazz Orchestra, members of the Ellington Orchestra, John Bunch, Britt Woodman, Joe Wilder, Norris Turney, Harry Allen, and Patrice Rushen. Leslie has toured as a featured jazz vocalist with Musique Sur La Mer Chamber Orchestra in concert in London, as well as performances with Jazz Tap Ensemble in New York and Los Angeles. Leslie Lewis is a true jazz singer. She has that tough to define “something” which separates the jazz and pop worlds.

Pete Miller

Another great work from my earliest musical collaborator, Gerard Hagen, and his bride, Leslie. Great arrangements, beautiful tones, wonderful playing and singing.
