Album Notes
This hour long instrumental collection sets a tranquil setting for the holidays making it ideal background music for a variety of seasonal events. Phillip Lester's fingerstyle guitar playing displays a tenderness and heartfelt approach. His alternating use of acoustic, classical, and high strung guitar makes this collection refreshingly unique. His music has a soothing quality, serene and joyful. In the midst of the Christmas rush, Carols of the Nativity can calm the spirit while helping listeners reflect on the majesty and serenity behind the season. Whether one is looking for music for the office, for entertaining, dining, for decorating or traveling , this recording will add just the right touch to your holidays this year and many to come.

"Lester's imagination researches all the shades of coloring the acoustic guitar has to offer...Lester demonstrates endless feeling and compassion in his music."
--Barbara Morash: Record Reviews New England Performer Magazine

" ...a very fine solo guitarist. His approach to the guitar is both sensitive and intelligent. He is a talented arranger with a gift for musicianship."
--Christopher Parkening

" Your arrangements are incredibly beautiful, very heartfelt music. Your music is terrific. Its like sitting next to a warm fireplace."
-- Tom McCarthy , Station WDBO, Orlando, Florida

" After hearing you play, I feel like i just had a massage" --- Rudy Pensa, owner of Rudy's Guitars , NYC

The influence of Earl Klugh, and George Winston may be heard in his solo acoustic guitar arrangements and compositions. His recordings have been featured on radio stations from Portland, Oregon to Boston, Massachusetts. He is presently residing in northern New Jersey and performs throughout the NJ/NY/CT area.

A Christmas tradition
I bought my first copy of this CD in 1997. This year I bought 5 more -- gifts for new friends, new family.

When mid-December comes, we bring the tree up from the cellar, the ornaments from the closet, the Christmas CDs from the drawers -- Nat King Cole, Bing Crosby, Phillip Lester. Yes -- it is that good.

a definite part of my holiday music collection
I had the pleasure of attending a Christmas party a couple of years ago where Phillip Lester was actually the musician providing holiday music. His Carols of the Nativity CD was one of the door prizes that night and I kept trading my gifts until I went home with a copy of the CD! His renditions of Christmas classics are what the holidays are all about.
