Album Notes
The best thing about Donny Libby's songs are that he is not trying to fit into some genre slot nor does he care if people like his songs or not.Although he spent eleven straight years of doing practically nothing except being a starving songwriter, Donny took on this lifetime adventure purely for the need to grow and develop as a human being. He was an extremely prolific writer as a teenager in the sixties and says that he just needs the release and fullfillment that songwriting gives him.He also had to write songs because he wasn't hearing what he wanted to hear in most songs so he writes his own.
Also Donny doesn't try to write songs he just let's them come to him,he writes the initial inspiration down and of course he rewrites where necessary."The best songs write themselves,"says Donny "They just fall out onto the page in a magnificently unique way."Usually with a beautiful melody to boot."
"I wanted to see if I could write as good as some of my song writing hero's such as Hank and Dylan and Cohen.I am not as great a writer as those guys but my songs stand up to be as good as most artist I have heard. But I am still writing daily and listening to hear the next great song.
