ABOUT THIS ALBUM

Album Notes
Bio

Life in Winter is an independent rock band (with folk influences) from Montréal. The project
was started in the winter of 2007 by bassist/singer Sage Reynolds as a vehicle for his
songwriting. The music is influenced by rock from the 60's & 70's right through to what is
happening in indie rock today, as well as folk music, and bluegrass.

Members

Sage Reynolds - vocals, bass, guitar
Rich White - guitar, bass, harmony vocals
Liam Killen - drums
The Cloud – a floating and protean group of excellent musicians who perform live with Life in Winter on Guitars, Banjos, Keys, and with their voices.

Album

Life in Winter's self-titled debut has 9 songs and is just over 40 minutes long. The songs were
written between 2007 and 2011 and address such subject matters as: artistic motivation,
fame, rural/urban duality, domestic friction, heartbreak, dreams, and the search for love. The
mostly guitar & drums oriented music is subtle & quiet at some points and driving & loud at
others. The abundant use of vocal harmonies on the album adds to the richness of it's sonic
texture. The lead vocals are sensitive at some points and urgent at others, but always
accurately display the depth of timbre present in Sage's voice.
