Album Notes
Limited Sight Distance [LSD] was a recording project that began as a musical exploration and continued into an on-going collaboration. An intricately woven, sonic tapestry that ebbs and flows culminating in a collage of sounds that are both beautiful and intense. LSD is not so much an out growth of rock but rather a response to it. LSD was originally recorded while Stefanie Fix was living in the Woodstock area of New York.

Oddly enough Stefanie Fix, the songwriter who created LSD didn’t start out making this kind of music. She started out playing the “folk circuit”- traveling throughout North America like the troubadours of olde. An award winning songwriter, Stefanie released two full-length CD’s and gathered accolades from magazines and dailies from coast to coast including a 4 star review from All Music Guide, praise from Goldmine, a mention in the New York Times, etc.

Stefanie gradually began to realize that the music she was most excited about wasn’t necessarily the type of music she was playing. She wanted to create a sonic experience for the listener that could match the power, intensity and content of her lyrics, while simultaneously using her versatile and expressive voice in a less conventional manner. Having mastered “the craft” of songwriting, Fix made a clear and conscious choice [with LSD], to abandon those confines for the sake of pure expression and artistic exploration.

Stefanie met producer Kevin McMahon who’s credits include The Walkmen, Home (Jetset Records), Cakelike (Vapor Records) and The Mooney Suzuki (Telestar Records) at just around the same time she was discovering her new voice. It’s obvious that LSD has some unconventional roots, therefore it’s hard to figure out exactly where it belongs- Space? Shoegazer? Rock?! Folk!? We call it “SpaceFolk”… but hell, call it what ya like.

Stefanie Fix has just released her third full-length studio CD, Crooked Smile. She currently lives in Austin, TX where she continues to perform regularly both solo and with her full studio band. Find the new CD, Crooked Smile right here! On CDBaby!

Limited Sight Distance
This EP is an eclectic set of 4 very different tunes, yet in a similar lyrical theme. I thouroughly enjoy listening to this CD and recommend it to those wishing something off the beaten musical path should give this a listen.
