ABOUT THIS ALBUM

Album Notes
In 2008 Ezra Holbrook invited me to put together a combo for a regular slot at Biddy McGraw’s in Portland. I knew exactly who to ask and, it turns out, formed my own accidental fraternity. In Jim, Tyler and Andy, I found some of my favorite guys to make music with on Earth. We gigged sporadically, always having fun and stretching out songs from throughout my career in extended, groove-heavy, jazz-inflected explorations. In March, 2009, the four of us and my friend Jesse Haag took over Kelly Sullivan’s house in Trout Lake, Washington for a weekend. With friends and family hanging around we recorded the songs that have been our live bread and butter, mostly in one take with minimal overdubs, captured beautifully by Jesse on his amazing home-built rack. Sublime. I love these recordings. Play them loud and enjoy!
