Album Notes
I discovered that life is a journey, a roller coaster ride, a paddle down a wild stream, or floating on a shimmering lake. It can be many a mountain top experience that often leads to the occasional valleys. The roads can be unlimited and filled with abundant choices.

This album is the culmination (or you may say the beginning) of a dream that started when I was in grade school. Sitting in front of the radio, Monday through Friday at 8 PM sharp, listening to a program called Musical Comedy Theatre. I listened to the many stories told through these songs. I felt them and they inspired my soul. It was safe to “feel”.

I was raised in a home filled with the great old standards sung by the vocal giants that impacted my career…far too many to list. But, a sampling would be Doris Day, Eydie Gorme, Tony Bennett, Julie Andrews, Sammy Davis, Jr., Barbra Streisand, Nancy Wilson, Frank Sinatra and many, many more. I still have all the old LPs and pull them out occasionally to reminisce.

My life is not unique. Many people have the same emotional ups and downs as me…the same frustrations and desperations. I wanted to use my talents to take people places…into feelings, laughter and release of tears like I experienced.

A lot of couples found the love of their life in high school, college, on a bus, in a coffee house or other places of happenstance. I have seen many of these loves that have lasted and others that melted away. The search for love and to be loved is the goal of every human spirit.

I heard that Mae West always “got her man”… and I never found mine! But it’s not over ‘till “The Fat Lady Sings” and I don’t hear any humming!

My “showbiz” background has included acting, playwriting, directing and producing. The illusive Broadway life eluded me…so far. As in many things in my life, I decided it was time to make sure my bucket list was completed….at least as much as it was in my power to complete!

So, here it is….the story in music….

Welcome To The Journey To The Crossroads….

I believed I would find “him” and love “him” for the rest of my life Come Rain or Come Shine. Many a night I dreamed of the right time. I believed in A Time For Love. I gravitated to the tall, dark and handsome ones who knew how to Mambo Italiano. I met him...many “hims”. It was all the same. I faced the realization that Not A Day Goes By that the heartache would always remain the same and I faced the same scenario that I (he) Won't Send Roses. So I finally decided to go my way By Myself. With all the humor I could, I declared that Nobody Does It Like Me. My “picker’ was broken and I wasn’t sure how to fix it. I didn’t want to listen to the naysayers and the realists. I decided I Don’t Want To Know all the facts or “how to’s”. I wanted my fantasies and my dreams. So…”a tumbling” I went along the road to somewhere…tripping on many a rock along the way… with many a “stubbed toe.”

One day I stood At The Crossroads. I became aware that Anyone Can Whistle …but could I? Should I just give up? I needed a hand I could trust. I was alone. Sometimes when you feel you lost in the woods… it appears you are alone. Then I discovered that No One Is Alone. It might feel that way. But it’s not true.

I had learned a lot of things during my life…many good…many not so good. But above all, I learned that Children Will Listen and believe what is said to them…as will grown-ups. Words are important…no matter one’s age. That is a journey in itself. What words do you believe?

Then one day I heard a faint and Unexpected Song from an unexpected Source that forever impacted my journey. The song changed my life slowly over many years. It was a gentle melody and filled with love. Nothing like I had ever known or heard…from Someone different. I found the hand I was seeking and the heart to go with it. He made a promise to me….and me to Him. The Promise - I’ll Never Say Goodbye.

This CD took me to places emotionally I hadn't been in a LONG time! What an amazing, evocative singer/stylist; they just don't make music like this anymore, and there are certainly few performers of this caliber and creativity. I HIGHLY recommend this CD to ANYONE who loves good music!

Linda Rand's voice is clear, beautiful - an amazing range! And she brings transparent interpretation to these amazing songs. It's like hearing them again for the first time. A perfect combo of musical integrity and the understanding that a song is written with intent and emotion.

Awesome Voice
Having cast Linda for her incredible singing and acting talents before, it's no surprise to me that this collection of songs is so awesome. I wonder how her voice can be clear and sharp like glass, while at the same time smooth as butter. This is a terrific set of songs. I highly recommend the whole collecton!
