Album Notes
Linda Saito is a singer with unquestionable talent and artistry who has experienced much success in her musical career. Linda was born in Montana and raised in Texas and Arizona where she was awarded a vocal scholarship to Arizona State University culminating in a Bachelor's Degree. Linda lived in Hawaii for 8 years and Japan for 6 years during which time she was always singing, sometimes with her own groups and sometimes with big bands and orchestras. Linda's first band was Mystic Pearl which had vibes, guitar, bass and Linda on vocals and percussion which performed in the heart of Waikiki at the Last Chance Club. Later, she followed that band with another highly successful band, Sunburst. Linda also did a tour for the Department of Defense with a six piece band to Korea and Japan. She was the voice of KITV-Channel 4 (ABC) for several years. While in Hawaii she became a member of SGI (Soka Gakkai International), a Buddhist group. While in Japan and Hawaii she did extensive studio work including back-up vocals for various singers and recording commercials. Linda wrote, produced and recorded "Red Hot Mama" and produced and recorded "Lovin' You". Linda also was in numerous movies and TV shows including many Hawaii 5-0 episodes, Diamond Head, Charlie's Angels, Sanford and Son and Magnum, P.I. Linda's endless source of energy and contagious enthusiasm together with love of the people has taken her to singing engagements in nightclubs, musical theatre stages, homes, prisons, hospitals, concerts...singing indoors and outdoors...and always with good professional judgement and impeccable artistry. Artists of the quality of George Benson, Hubert Laws and Keith Jarrett have been in her company in jam sessions; and she has appeared on stage with the inimitable Miles Davis and Ernie Washington (pianist for Billie Holiday).
