Album Notes
The songs Lindsay Treen writes and her style of singing have come a long way from her days as a classical singer. After studying at the Guildhall School of Music in London, UK, she spent many years in an artistic community, writing songs and choral pieces, before singing professionally then training as a Music Therapist and more recently as a Sound Therapist.

A decade of searching for a spiritually and musically compatible person to record her songs finally led Lindsay to Craig Pruess, with his incredible gifts and limitless vision as a musician, sound engineer and producer.

The four songs on this EP are about our connection with the earth, especially our connection with water. There is wide variety here, from the strongly rhythmic 'Trees', sung over a Hopi Indian chant, with some glorious drumming by Craig Pruess, to the tender, gently lyrical 'Flowing' (words by artist Jaine Rose).

Lyrics usually come before the music with Lindsay, but the joyful Medieval-style tune 'Dance Lightly' landed in her lap years before she found words adapted (by an unknown author) from 'Tread Gently' by Carolyn Hillyer, that fit perfectly. This is a big production number. Imagine ... a clearing in a wood where a large bonfire burns. The call goes out. Men, women and children come running through the trees to dance together in celebration around the bonfire ...

In contrast, 'Heart to Heart', a vocal improvisation in an intuited 'language' with an arrangement skilfully woven around it, feels like an intimate conversation between two people. 'Meditative, relaxing and soothing' writes one reviewer, while another found it 'sublime and Divine!'. Some gorgeous alto-flute playing here by Samantha Moore.

Lindsay plans to apply for crowd-funding with Indiegogo to record a full album.
