Album Notes
Lindsey Schust is a composer, singer, and multi-instrumentalist (African drums, and Afro-Caribbean percussion, piano, and bass) whose songs reflect her love of country music and all types of folk traditions from around the world. After studying composition at Brandeis University with David Rakowski, Lindsey attended Tufts University and studied with John McDonald and received a master’s degree in music composition. Lindsey also has an extensive background in African and Afro-Caribbean music and percussion. Her Godfather was the late drumming icon, Babatunde Olatunji (Drums of Passion) who introduced Grace Schust (mom) to African drumming traditions and later also taught Lindsey.

Lindsey now resides in rural New Hampshire where she continues to compose and write songs within a wide range of musical styles from Country Western to Reggae to Afro-Cuban to Classical. Her first album entitled "Donde Esta Mi Corazon”, was entirely self-produced. The recording has received airplay on radio stations in Ontario, Colombia, Peru, Italy, England, and her native New Hampshire, and received a nomination for a Just Plain Folks world music award in 2009.

Lindsey's newest project has more of an Americana feel. After starting the "Ragged Mountain Band" in the spring of 2011, Lindsey leads her group in community performances at local festivals and fairs. Her country songs mention and highlight some of the unique places and qualities of rural New England. Her first hit single "Hippie Hill" has received wide recognition in the Danbury and Andover communities and in particular with the peace loving bikers of Hippie Hill. Many thanks to the Mayor to Dick and the whole Hippie Hill crew for the inspiration and friendship!

The Ragged Mountain Band features Texas born singer, Peg O'Neil on lead vocals, Grace and Lindsey Schust on back-up vocals, Jim Schust on guitar, Emilie Meadows on banjo and BJ Entwisle on electric bass. The recording engineer was David Tonkin of Concord Community Music School.
