ABOUT THIS ALBUM

Album Notes
"Not Going Under" is an album comprised of songs about getting down to the soul of things and releasing what holds us back in this life.

Lisa Couto is a songwriter who writes with heart and inspiration. Her vocal style can be described as an "R&B Sheryl Crow" and her music, while sometimes driving, is mostly sweet and laid back. She teamed up with her partner Ray Cooke who used electric and baritone guitar to lend rock elements to the album. The amazing Daisy Castro (teenaged violin phenom) lent her brilliance on violin and cello adding "Gypsy Folk" leanings to some tracks. Joe Meo on sax and flute, Vinny Pagano on drums and Jesse Bastos on bass round out the production and give the album a funky feel. The album was engineered by Mark Thayer at Signature Sounds Studios and mastered by John Mailloux at Bongo Beach Productions.
