Here's what Conscious Dancer Magazine says about “The Song of the Tree:”

“Bridging the gap between ethereal and ambient, this evocative collection of lengthy tracks is a soothing and sensual soundtrack for movement or meditation. Composer Lis Addison uses her voice to tone, sing, and chant her way through the seven chakras, guiding us to a higher vibration with her signature practice VoCHeT, or Vocal Chakra Healing Tones. Beautiful sounds create passages that are both calming and enlivening. Complemented by an informative booklet that facilitates an understanding of the voice in relation to the chakras, the CD package is a useful tool for healing as well as a delightful listen.”

And here's what Yoga Journal says about "The Song of the Tree:"

“The key to good health lies in finding balance in the body’s seven chakras, or energy centers. Yogis believe that when the chakras are clear, the path to higher consciousness-and enlightenment-also becomes clear. That’s the idea behind “The Song of the Tree”. . . the album is beautiful and induces a state of relaxation.”

"The Song of the Tree" is an offering to anyone who wishes to move energy in the form of sound vibration. Each track represents a different Vocal Chakra Healing Tone (VoCHeT®) designed to liberate the inner voice and activate the Chakras. The pieces are arranged in ascending order from C to B. An Instructional booklet is included that details each vocal pattern.

The Chakras are energy centers, conductors or subtle channels through which energy flows to the body from the non-physical realm and back again, ideally in the form of right action, health and love and act as archetypal images for living a balanced life. The Chakras are receptors of vibration and respond to sound which elicits deep emotion and healing.

Like the magnificent tree, energy flows within us from root to crown and is received and released at varying levels along the way. A portion of the proceeds of CD sales goes to tree planting projects worldwide.

Lis Addison composed, performed and recorded this CD herself. She is an award-winning composer, vocalist, dancer & yogini specializing in innovative forms of music and movement that incorporate ancient wisdom and promote healing for the earth and all beings. She has developed a tribal chant & movement practice called KiVo®: The Kinetic Voice and writes music for KiVo, Ecstatic Dance, Yoga and Vocalizing.

calming tones
This album is calming and I believe it truly does reach into something beyond what our eyes can see physically as the soft vocals and instrumentation flows through me. IT carries a message of something ancient and yet still alive from deep within the soul if only you stil your mind. IT's also good for background music while needing to concentrate on hard subjects like philosophy or when feeling creative in any way where you are sitting or standing still.IT's not distracting in any wayif played softly.Great album for relaxation.
