ABOUT THIS ALBUM

Album Notes
Britain’s Poet Laureate, and finest lyric poet, has collaborated with London band LiTTLe MACHiNe to create a magical collection of songs for the Christmas season. Eleven of her poems, five previously unpublished, are set to music by the band who have become firm favourites of the poetry world. They range from the delicate introspection of ‘The Lineage’ to the gothic strangeness of ‘Mistletoe Bride’; from the bell-ringing celebration of ‘The Single Bed’ to the outright, floor-filling weirdness of ‘The Lord of Misrule’. LiTTLe MACHiNe’s evocative music and the lyrical vision of Britain’s foremost poet combine to produce an album of songs to rival the Pogues and Slade and become a firm Christmas favourite.
