Great CD! Reminds me a little of Sheryl Crow, incredible songwriting. Jesus or Elvis is a masterpiece.

I\'ve heard 2 songs from this album on Bob Harris BBC2 and am very much looking forward to sitting down for a listen to the whole CD. Kill the Crows will be my wake up song every morning from now to eternity.

South of Graceland
very great CD - not one to pass by, this artist will be as fast rising on the US folk scene as she is now in England.

A good one
Sitting somewhere between Americana and mainstream country, this album contains songs that contain subtle pleasures. There is nothing here that startles or surprises but the songs soon become old friends and that has much to do with Ms Knott\'s entrancing performance that gives the words life. \"Jesus or Elvis\" sends a message of hope in these days of empty souls while \"Too Much Love\" treads a similar path pointing out that \"… no one\'s getting too much love\". Unlike mainstream country however, the sentiments on display don\'t get dissolved in saccharine. Ms Knott\'s shows that same sort of understanding of subtlety that Devon Sproule shows as she turns the almost trivial \"Wonderful Day\" into a particularly delicate confection.

There is charm in abundance on display here. Whilst Lizanne Knott does veer into Sheryl Crow\'s vocal territory at times, she also has the warmth of spirit that is normally associated with Nanci Griffith. Aided by a tasteful and sympathetic production, South of Graceland is an album that many people will take to their heart.

Just received this CD and can\'t stop listening, I\'ll be very suprised if this artist doesn\'t take off. I think I may have heard her on XM radio with a previous CD but this one is over the top. Great songs and production. Fast service from CD Baby. Thank you!

South of Graceland
This singer/songwriter with an absolute fantastic voice is from
Philadelphia and with her title-less debut and later "Under The Burning
Sky" she justly made a huge impression on the music-people… she brings us
highly esteemed and quality music. When her CD ”Heal Africa” came out last
year, which is a part of her project with the same name, she proved that
she also have her hart at the right place.

Her new ”South of graceland” is a cd that you should truly pick. With her
delicate, warm voice, which can be compared to that of Sheryl Crow and a
young Ricky Lee Jones, and also has traces of Norah Jones and Nancy
Griffith, she brings you strong lyrics with a lot of emotion. She does
this with a big sympathetic insight and strong poetic features. Songs are
often about life, or to put it more accurate, about the daily concerns.
Her voice pulls you into her music, and takes you deep into yourself. I
can imagine that even people that are not truly (normally) intensive
listeners, will be hooked by this voice.

With a band comprised of a group of friends, that coincidentally are all
top-musicians, her lovely voice is furthermore surrounded with a framework
comprised of a sub tile sound.

An intoxicating highlight of this magnificent cd is for instance
”Wonderful day”. Listen to this song and your day will be a whole lot more
beautiful. Or the jazzy-ringing ”I got Song”… marvellous. The opening song
”dont let me down” will stay in you head, with its great melody. ”Jesus or
elvis” is also one of those. Let it be known that the 12 songs on this cd
is a dozen small juvels, just as the singer Lizianne Knott herself. At the
same time as she is an uncut diamond she shines away with her many facets.

Let us soon hear more, let us discuss more about her. From today I am a
Lizanne Knott fan for life!
