Album Notes
Banjo player from Spain, he has studied traditional and progressive bluegrass travelling around Europe and USA, taking lessons from masters like Bill Keith, Tony Trischka, Pete Wernick, Noam Pikelny, Jayme Stone and Jean Marie Redon.

Lluís primary musical project is his Quartet which plays engaging and dynamic material, the addition of Joan Pau Comellas on harmonica adds a diferent flavour to the bluegrass, Ricky Araiza on acoutic guitar and Maribel Sánchez on uprightbass.

This all-instrumental album includes original compositions by Lluís, with additions from Ricky Araiza and Jose Mari Pulido. The material includes two Irish tunes, a set of jigs ( Leg of a duck, Creel of Turf and Jackson's ) and the reel Moving Cloud with a modern bluegrass flavour.

This record features:

Lluís Gómez on 5-string banjo
Joan Pau Comellas on harmonica
Ricky Araiza on guitar
Maribel Sánchez on uprightbass
Tom Corbett on mandolin and guitar
Tim Carter on 5 string banjo
Jose Mari Pulido on 5-string banjo
Bernard Molloy on fiddle
Victor Estrada on theremin

"Lluis Gomez's tunes and tasteful spin on the 5-string banjo turns ears. A wonderful journey through the gamut of new acoustic stylings, with some creative Iberian spice." Jake Shepps

"Lluis's music is balanced. It is reminiscent of Bluegrass yet is
somehow beyond; Fresh and original, yet holds just enough common
ground with tradition."
Tom Nechville

Lluis has a gift for creating unique and appealing compositions for the banjo. This record treats the listener to a very enjoyable combination of sounds."
Pete Wernick ("Dr. Banjo")

Fine stuff
Saw your gang at the Longford Festival this year and the jammin at the Longford Hotel made my stay great. Marty Rooney from Santry started the session on the Friday evening and your lot came and joined in! Anyway hope to see you all again next year. Barney
