ABOUT THIS ALBUM

Album Notes
Welcome to the 2019 remake of my WHILE CREATURES OF SUMMER SLEEP recording! This project took two years to re-write, create the music, record, and mix. I released one story at a time and then, this year, had the opportunity to bring in kids from China, Iran, Eritrea, and right here in Colorado, to talk about the New Year celebrations in their native cultures. Such sweet kids, who really had a true love for their homelands, whether they were born there or not.
I had so much fun writing the music and recording the voices for this project... from the three crazy ladies and the Mean Dudes in "The Three Great Witches" to the little tail-less mouse and the nasty Kipperly Household Mama Mouse in "A Christmas Tail." For over 30 years I have felt that music for Children has an obligation to teach, without using a sledgehammer. I feel the same about stories. I can't really write without having a message in there somewhere. Just like my music, in these stories, it's a lot about Diversity and Self-Esteem, getting along, having "Peace and Love" as the driving force to buoy us up. Still, it's mostly about fun, hence the feather, instead of the hammer. Enjoy! And check out our Lois LaFond & The Rockadiles music as well.
