Album Notes
The Lonesome Sisters, Sarah Hawker & Debra Clifford sing the Civil War song Blue Eyed Boston Boy. This was a poem published in 1880's newspapers, in both the north and south, changed to reflect the area. It was first recorded in the 1920's and is a beautiful and touching story of 2 friends on the battlefields. They are asking each other to alert their families if they die. The song encompasses the old high lonesome sound they are known for, with simply acoustic guitar.

A touching story of 2 soldiers
I saw this talked about on a Civil War forum, a great historical Civil War poem set to music. Love the voices.
