Album Notes
"From Sacramento, CA, The Loose Acoustic Trio has released one of my favorite albums of 2005. It's full of well-written, fun, original tunes straight from the Central Valley. These guys deliver accordion, banjo and giant fiddle madness on "Brand New Mind"."

"Cool As Folk"
KDVS radio - Davis, CA

"In 10 years of keeping fairly close track of such things, 6 albums have had a 100% hit rate where every cut is something I want to play. "Brand New Mind" is number 7 on the "clean sweep" list. At some point in the next few months I will be playing every track on the CD. Thanks."
Richard Schwartz (aka Professor Purple)
KZMU radio - Moab, Utah

"You guys have done a great job with this thing. The mix is fantastic, the songs are great. I can't believe I'm saying this about accordion, banjo, mandolin and knuckle-head harmonies, but it's really well done."
Billy Fields
National Sales Director
Warner Music Group

"With songs about hats, corn and chickens, the Loose Acoustic Trio's new CD, "Brand New Mind", may seem like yet another emo-metal band who've unplugged. But don't let the down-home sincerity fool you: There's wit and soul in this modern jug-band equivalent."

Staff Writer
Sacramento Bee

Great songs and vocal harmonies with accordion, banjo, mandolin, upright bass, bowed cello, tuba, fiddle and soprano saxophone, produce an infectious stripped-down Americana sound. The Loose Acoustic Trio's new CD, "Brand New Mind", incorporates elements of folk, blues, old time country and Cajun, including 12 original tunes from Ken Cooper (banjo and mandolin), Richie Lawrence (accordion) and special guest writer Paul Lacques (I See Hawks In LA), as well as the cover song "Crow Black Chicken". All contribute to a distinctive, traditional roots style with a contemporary twist.

BFR Magazine

This is a very enjoyable, funny, entertaining album to listen too.
This is a very enjoyable, funny, entertaining album to listen too. I would say the style of music makes me feel like I am sitting in some small watering hole in the middle on nowhere. The stories in the songs are creative and fun. I love corn too! Great work guys!

This is one of the most fun CDs I have purchased in a long while. The lyrics are funny and about light subjects, accompanied by a huge variety of instruments, and good vocal harmonies that make you feel like you're sitting on a porch with your good friends drinking some beer and playing some songs. Highly recommended.

CD Baby

Bubbling over with humor and wit, Loose Acoustic brings fun, fresh, light-hearted fun delivered with sincerity through their get-up of accordion, guitjo, mandolin, stand up bass, tuba, bowed cello, fiddle and three part harmony. Ranging from folk roots to stringband, this is a great little disc.

I got this CD as a Christmas present and play it everyday. I love it!
A friend of mine kept telling me about his favorite new group, The Loose Acoustic Trio. Old time sound with great songs. Real good, quirky lyrics. Lots of three-part harmonies. He finally got me a copy of the CD and now I can't stop listening to it. I saw them live and they sound just like the CD. Highly recommended!
