ABOUT THIS ALBUM

Album Notes
"If you are a fan of the classic song-book genre and relish witty, sophisticated, sometimes bizarre and always entertaining song lyrics sung with a great directness, polish and love for the music, 'Songs for the Heart' is for you. With tin-pan alley fare like Irving Berlin's "If You Don't Want My Peaches, You'd Better Stop Shaking My Tree," Cole Porter's hilarious "The Physician," or passionate ballads such as Mr. Porter's "You Don't Know Paree," or Kurt Weill's and Maxwell Anderson's "Trouble Man," Lorraine Gallard delivers a virtual masterclass in this genre."
Bill T. Jones: choreographer, director, dancer

"What a voice! It has a fierce velvety radiance. And what gorgeous original songs. Enjoy! I did enormously."
André Gregory: director, actor, playwright

David Loud, Music Director of “Songs from the Heart,” is currently on Broadway with "The Scottsboro Boys": music direction and vocal arrangements. He also arranged the music and was musical director earlier this year for the much heralded show "Sondheim on Sondheim." His arrangements and direction have graced "Curtains", "Sweeney Todd", "Ragtime" and many other Broadway musicals.
