ABOUT THIS ALBUM

Album Notes
Made in Spain Album
The USA has The Ventures, the UK has The Shadows,Sweden has The Spotnicks and Spain has Los Jets as their premier rock instrumental group. For over 40 years, the group has stablished themselves popular both at home and abroad on recent tours playing their 60´s smash hits ,like Zorongo and Lover´s guitar, plus their skilful originals and interpretations of classic instrumentals. With albums like "Spanish Blood","40 aniversario" and "The Essential"they have picked up many new fans all over the world, with their unique brand of guitar music.
But now look to the album,we´ve all been asking LOS JETS to do for years-a collection of rock guitar music emanatng from their homeland in one from another. MADE IN SPAIN is this album and it includes all that musical excitement, different time signatures and masterful guitar playing associated with that wonderful country that we holiday-Brits love so much!.This is LOS JETS most rounded album yet with so many styles and blends of music all played to perfection.
LOS JETS are a real force on today´s world rock instrumental scene.Long may continue.
OLE!.

Three Stars album
This is not a surf CD.It´s also not heavy rock.It is,however,a very good dise for listening. Some very nice arranging, excellent emotional playing, and simply enjoable tracks. There are a couple of tracks with elements of surf.

Fantastic

The Ventures Resurgence

My attention is now drawn to Spain and of course the main instrumental band LOS
This is a collection of guitar music originating from their homelan in various forms. The styles and blends of music here are very varied and played with extreme perfection. The well known Ennio Morricone songs"For a few dollars more" and "A fistfull of dollars" are tastefully performed. Likewise "The lonely bull" and "Rodrigo´s Aranjuez". The Spanish songs have very complicated and complex arrangements. Many of these I don´t think I have heard before, except "Malagueña",wich I thought was impressive,as was "Ritual fire dance". "Spanish Serenade" was just beautiful. I think that one main ingredient here that contributes to a wonderful album is the vast array of different instruments used during the recording. There is a detailed listing and photograph in the CD sleeve as well as excellent sleeve notes from Davy Peckett.

Nice to be around at the birth of a classic album
This record is not "Spanish Blood" 2 it is a huge step forward with songs that are not usually used by groups on the pop circuit.Los Jets come up with fantastic arrangements like the one Michel did for Aranjuez and Spanish Serenade, or the great arrangements that Eduardo made for the two spaghetti western themes. This album brings more percussion and 18 tracks rather the normal 12 or 14 and the first original composition from the band in years, with Maria Latina. Since we were privileged to be asked to do the liner notes,we won´t duplicate them here but suffice to say that this is a superb album. It´s musically one of the most advanced that a guitar instrumental band have made. Don´t expect simple, four bar boogies, you´ll possibly need to listen to it few times before it sinks in,but trust me, it´s worth it.Is nice to be around at the birth of a classic album.

Fine band,fine album
It is true to say that Los Jets have been revitalised. With Spanish Blood, album of the year 2004 in the European circuit, they mixed the rock instrumental genre they love with the musical heritage of their country.Their newest offering builds on that, with mixture of Spanish classical "lollipops",traditional Spanish melodies,psuedo-Sapanishry like "The lonely biull" and Morricone´s spaghetti Western themes plus one straight-forward pop tune by Brian Adams. With Michel Martinez now on lead guitar, supported by German Villanueva on rhythm,Raul Rodriguez on bass,Javier Honrubia on keyboards, and the ever-reliable Eduardo Bartrina on drums.

With this album,Los Jets move further away from the classic Sadows-influenced instrumental sound, while retaining the strong melodic sense which charasterised the best of the 60,s instrumentalists. It´s always refreshing to hear an contemporary instrumental album with a different repertoire, and Made in Spain"is no exception. All
five members turn in top preformances. Already,I expect this feature as a contender for next Pipeline "Albu of the year" and I look forward to seeing Los Jets next March 27th,returning to the stage of Conway hall for this year´s Convention. What a fine band, what a fine album.
