ABOUT THIS ALBUM

Album Notes
spanish instrumental rock giants los jets came back with a bang for the millenium and have gathered a huge new following internationally for their fine series of classic rock guitar instrumental albums. with recent concerts in their homeland of spain, england, holland or germany, they have shown why they are quite definitely spain´s number one.

this new set, produced by their still vibrant drummer, eduardo bartrina, takes the band in yet another challenging direction, this time being a combination of authentic spanish sounds with rock feel and a nod towards the famed american instrumental combo the ventures, currently enjoying their 45th year of ininterrupted success on the world stage.

it´s a sure fire hit album when you get superb musicianship
on top of the first rate material and this is the case with this collection of carefully chosen tracks. the spanish themed numbers like el barco del amor, the valiant and the knights of madrid, are just perfect examples of the genre -highly infectious melodies, played with lots of tricky licks and tricks but they are also gently rocked up without detracting from their roots. marvellous stuff!.
even the joe meek classic instrumental husky team (fine version by los jets),could have been a spanish number!

the material originally associated with the ventures is also beautifully done and is not boringly copied as so many bands do. los jets reinvent ventures classics like flight of the bumble bee and ram bunk shus with fresh, intricate skill which really works. los jets return a grand job on this equally impressive classic number. waiting for a train, gets a dire straits treatment and los jets acknowledge australia´s atlantics with a great version of surf number, bombora. and listen to the contagious surf samba, and so what, for examples of the very best in instrumental rock music today.

los jets are flying again!

and how!

If you haven´t heard Los Jets, please do !!!!
I have to say that Los Jets are without doubt the most improved, polished and original guitar band around in 2006. Their originals are striking, their arrangements are first class and their roots (Spanish) music could not be played better by anyone. Definitely one of NGD´s top bands - in a time of many bands just doing the same tired staff - if you haven´t heard Los Jets, please do!!!!

Rock instrumentals at their best
What a album. Played as usual at Los Jets style, event The Ventures numbers played by Los Jets in this CD,making you belive you are hearing these for the first time. Los Jets are like a breath of fresh air bursting onto the instrumental scene. Rock instrumental at their best.

It is seriously GOOD!!!!!
Spain´s contribution to RI scene are the excellent Los Jets.Theis latest album (named after the geographical location of Madrid),is seriously GOOD!!. Some great guitar sounds blend with a touch of horgan on a variety of tracks, from sources such as The Ventures,Saint and a few flavoured numbers, incluiding originals. This almost qualifies inclusion in the Australian section,as there are great versions of The Atlantics "Bombora" and The Telstars "Knight of Madrid". The tracks show plenty of variety and innovation. Check out their web site at www.losjets.com

Highly recommended
A highly recommended CD,and perhaps a candidate for Pipeline album of the year again.? And salute a band who are still able to produce quality instrumental music as they head for their 50th anniversary in music

This is a fine album.....
This is a fine album from Madrid´s legendary LOS JETS. For me,the two high points are," The Valiant" and "Voyage around the moon",but there are many shining moments. It´s a very good set of new recordings from a band that has been at it since ´58 or so.
