Album Notes

"Live in Ohrid" features the great bulgarian kaval player Theodosii Spassov (famous worldwide as both folklore and jazz musician, using great number of interesting instruments and playing techniques). In the summer of 2003, Lot Lorien were invited to play at "Balkan Square Festival" in Ohrid/Republic of Macedonia. This was the first collaboration with Theodosii Spassov and it was very successful. As the show was recorded, the members of Lot Lorien found out that the recording has great sound and atmosphere and they decided to release few songs from it...so this live album was released. "Live in Ohrid" contains 7 compositions from Lot Lorien's first album "Eastern wind" and also the song "Captain Petko voivoda" - based on old bulgarian folklore song and containing some new ideas, written by Kiril Georgiev-composer and guitar player of the band. All songs were arranged by Lot Lorien and Theodosii Spassov.

Exciting, mesmerizing, erotic, deeply emotional! A sound communication of an unlived true story. An experience of the unknown, yet so close to the soul of everyone. The combination of cosmopolitan jazz concepts, coupled with the intricacies of the Bulgarian folk, where only the jazz music allows and only Theodosii Spassov can execute.

This is a rare gem! Enjoy the live performance.
