Album Notes
The purpose of music is to share discovery.
With Beat Of The Heart singer-songwriter Louis Atlas has fulfilled his part of the bargain.

Collaborating with producer/multi-instrumentalist Christian Cassan, Beat of the Heart is a stunning reggae collection that draws from a myriad of influences including rhythm & blues, ska, rock, folk and dance. The music displays Atlas' reverence for melody and song-craft that reaches into Brazilian music, bossa nova, classical, jazz, world fusion, and artists as diverse as Bob Marley, the Beatles, Antonio Carlos Jobim, Gilberto Gil and Gregory Issacs.

Strong on melody and expert musicianship, Atlas is on a spiritual journey of self-discovery with songs that detail romance, injustice and redemption. Whether he is railing against oppression("Stop The Killing" & "Stamp Out Hate"), lamenting lost love("You Loved Me Once") or celebrating life("Praise On High") Atlas brings a genuine joy to the music he creates.

The recording and live performances of Beat Of The Heart drive home the essence of reggae. "You cannot substitute what is created by people with technology. Reggae cannot be fabricated. It's all about what's in your soul. Reggae is a spiritually uplifting art form and a genre of music that has the potential to educaate people positively. The ideas expressed in Reggae are true and universal"

Beat of the Heart affects the heart, piques the intellect, and its grooves invigorate the soul.

CD Baby

A melodic, at times eclectic, blend of reggae and pop/rock music with lyrics from the soul and social conscience. A fusion of Bob Marley and The Beatles.
