ABOUT THIS ALBUM

Album Notes
Inspired by a high school friend and musical partner in South Carolina, Louis began writing music at age seventeen. After a little more than a year of writing simple songs for a voice and a guitar, he began to make homemade recordings and soon started to layer additional instruments. Adding harmonies, banjo, and piano, he quickly became enamored of the recording and mixing process. As his body of work grew, and after encouragement from friends and classmates, he recorded "Take Me by My Words," his first studio EP, in the fall of 2015. The seven-song album reflects a year and a half of writing, and a collaborative arrangement process. With friends and bandmates contributing trumpet, drums, vocal harmonies, and bass guitar to the tracks, "Take Me by My Words" has a wider and more developed sound than anything else Louis has recorded. Inspired by folk artists such as Paul Simon and The Avett Brothers, Louis focuses on delivering honest lyrics set to heartfelt melodies.

Louis is currently an undergraduate at Yale University and lives in New Haven, Connecticut.

"Take Me by My Words" was mixed and mastered by Edward Lidow.

Vocals: Elena Saavedra Buckley
