Album Notes
Louise du Toit is an award-winning South African recording artist, who has chosen to use her music and creative skills to spread a worldwide message of environmental and wildlife preservation. "Ode to Magnificence" consists of 12 haunting songs, written by the artist to raise awareness about the plights of different animals subjected to severe suffering and persecution, many of those on the brink of extinction.

The title track of the album is one of four tracks dedicated to the magnificent wolf, all with very different approaches. "Ode to Magnificence" is a vocal recording reminding chants of Native America; "For Every Fallen Wolf" is an acoustic ballad which portrays the artist's ability to magically weave her voice into her piano performance, creating a unique unity between the vocals and instrument. "Howl Across America" is a powerful song, urging the listener to take a stand against the persecution of the exquisite wolves; "Ode to the Wolves" is an ethereal ballad which provides her with the opportunity to use the delicate high range of her voice in a challenging way.

The third track, titled “When Darkness Falls”, is a lyrical and ethereal tribute to the beautiful whales roaming the oceans; the fourth track, "Ode to the Amur Leopard", is dedicated to the extremely rare and highly endangered Amur leopard, with a chilling atmosphere taking the listener straight to an eastern forest on the mountain slopes of Jilin in China. The fifth track, “The Time Has Come”, is a song that the artist wrote for WEEAC, wholeheartedly supporting them in their noble efforts to globally oppose all forms of animals abuse and cruelty. On this track, the singer uses her voice in a very pure way, accompanied by an emotional string orchestra, creating an effect as if the song is being performed in the dome of a cathedral.

“Pawfect Nation” is the seventh track, written for the brilliant South African organization with the same name, giving vital protection and shelter to stray animals in Durban. In this rock influenced song, the artist portrays a different side of the life of stray animals, concentrating on their vulnerability and struggle to be recognized as sentient beings, requesting humans not to pass them by when they are in need of salvation. The eighth track is titled “We Are Just Like Them”; in this song the singer decisively speaks out against the use and wearing of fur, accentuating the fact that fur belongs solely to those who were born with it: "We don't have the right to wear their skin, we are just like them; we don't have the right to take their lives, to kill and to condemn."

The tenth track, “When I Surrender”, is a soft ballad which is also the soundtrack of her video, “Save the Chimpanzees”, stirring strong emotions in the listener while revealing the fragility of these amazing, sensitive animals, which share more than 98 percent of the genetic code of humans. “Seals of Nam” is the eleventh track, written specifically to support the worthy organization with the same title; it is an acoustic ballad which was recorded with piano and vocals only and which has a certain raw quality to it, projecting the hard-hitting message against the Namibian Seal slaughter in a powerful way, while keeping a soft and tender atmosphere to enhance the defenselessness of the tiny baby seals.

The final track on the album is “Vivus Sectio”, a strong composition opposing vivisection and scientific experiments on animals in all its forms. The song has chilling, honest lyrics, narrating the story of a beagle, living his whole life in a scientific laboratory as a helpless victim of animal experimentation.

Louise du Toit is also the creator of more than 30 videos, aimed at raising awareness about the protection of the environment, the plight of animals in their struggle for survival, as well as focusing on the equality and freedom of all living beings on earth. All twelve tracks on the album have been used as soundtracks for her videos, to enhance the power of the messages in her songs. The videos can be seen at her YouTube channel.

A Beautiful Album !
An extraordinary album of twelve beautiful ethereal songs all depicting the challenges of many of our endangered species. The lyrics tell the true story of the plight of our fellow creatures who share this Earth with us and how we can help to save and protect them. The songs are a tribute to the very real work undertaken by many animal charities. If you love animals you need to buy this album and help to spread the word. Louise's voice is magnificent and with feeling that just sings to your heart. Please buy this album, you won't be disappointed !

Beautifully Compassionate Album
Through tears, and tugs on my heart... I am writing about this wonderful album. The words to these songs, are so full of love and compassion of all animals. From the oceans to the mountains, from our wilderness areas, to the frozen lands and the air above. She sings with such beautiful emotion, and the music draws you in to her world of love and peace for all. "We are just like them" is fantastic. "For every fallen wolf, and Howl across America" are my two favorites, for I am a supporter of the beautiful wolf. I could go on and say something that touches me personally, with each of these songs. But, just know, you too, will fall in love with each one of these songs. Her voice is angelic, and the messages devine. Thank you for putting forth an album that has touched me like no other. I HIGHLY recommentd it!
