Reviews
"He has a gift for composition that is second to none." New Age Reporter

"…for those who like their solo piano music rich and full." Wind & Wire

"… indeed meditative and mellow, [he] sacrifices no musical rigor to achieve those ends. With backgrounds in jazz, Latin music, rock, pop, film composing, and classical piano, Louis brings his breadth and depth of experience to bear here. His playing and compositions are sensitive as they are complex and… a diverse range of influences is more than apparent.”
Keyboard Magazine

“While some pianists are virtuosos in their playing and others may not be as technically proficient but have great emotional content in their music, Louis Landon brings it all together with impeccable style and grace. His work covers diverse compositional terrain, incorporating influences of classical, new age, jazz, pop, and more in a mellifluous spectrum of moods and musical colors.”

From MainlyPiano
"Healing Piano of Sedona" is pianist/composer Louis Landon’s fifteenth release and is a bit different from his previous albums in that this is music intended for massage, yoga and relaxation. While Landon has been involved in the so-called new age piano genre for close to ten years, he is an incredibly versatile artist with a strong background in jazz and improvisation. A life-long professional musician, Landon recently relocated from New York to Sedona, AZ and part of that move included starting Healing Piano of Sedona which offers “mentoring, music and sound vibrations that are personalized to assist you in your soul’s journey.” I don’t know how much of the music on this album is improvised, but all twelve tracks are serene, smooth, and very free. Much of Landon’s other music contains rather dense chords and the complex rhythms found in jazz, but this one is more like a gently flowing stream that moves at its own pace without being hurried or encumbered in any way. I’ve been listening to it in my car as well as in my office, and it’s amazing how peaceful and contented it can make you feel whether it is in the background or you’re listening with more focus. All of the pieces are about five minutes in length, which gives them plenty of time to evolve, develop and work their magic.

"Healing Piano" of Sedona begins with “Breath,” a quietly understated piece that invites you to let go of your cares and give in to the soothing power of the music. “Sands of Time” is more melodic and lightly rhythmic. “Child Pose” has an innocent, playful attitude, with much of it played in the upper registers of the piano. “Harp Goddess” has more of the complicated chord patterns I would expect from Landon, but the delivery is silky-smooth. Although the two pieces are quite different from each other, both “Dream Weaver” and “Water Wheel” are driven by repetitive left hand patterns and very freely expressive right hands - both are very delicate and beautiful. “Perseverance” seems a bit more structured, although this is relative. It is one of my favorite tracks. “Garden of Eden” is heavenly - warm, peaceful, and blissful. Landon’s piano touch on this piece is amazing! “Soaring” is my favorite of the twelve and vaguely resembles Landon’s “Icicles” - one of my favorite Landon pieces ever! I hope this one becomes sheet music soon! “Shangri-La” brings the album to a serene and peaceful close with a little bit of paradise. Very free in both form and mood, it will end your one-hour session feeling refreshed, relaxed, and ready to tell the world that you are “excellent and better all the time!”

Louis Landon has had a longtime mission to to create a more loving and peaceful world by writing, recording and performing music from the heart and "Healing Piano of Sedona" will certainly take him even closer to his goal. Very highly recommended!

One World Music

An excellent performance from Louis Landon
Louis Landon is one of those rare musical geniuses, who can create great imagery with his talent and those keys are touched with such love and positive intent, that one can reach a state of bliss with one of his performances.
The first track is called Breath, the tempo of this track is absolutely spot on, it allows you to centre yourself and relax your mind to prepare for a healing journey and the tones, tunes and compositions on this album will certainly do that.
Sands of Time is different, but is as timeless as the first piece, the slow and gentle progression of the music depicts perfectly the illusion of time.
Ascending Souls is quite beautiful it has a delightful change in tone as it progresses, the way Landon alters his musical perspective on this piece is quite stunning, I felt here on this track, he had created something of a masterpiece.
We move to a light and happy song called Child Pose, here Landon creates a composition filled full of hope, lightness and wide eyed innocence, the tempo is upbeat and uplifting and once Louis Landon paints us a portrait of purposeful positivity, in the freshness of youth.
On the next piece Landon does something that would to some, seem to be impossible, he transforms his piano into a Harp. Harp Goddess is an extremely clever composition that see’s the musician play the piano with harp like plucks on the keys and scales, this is quite delicate and almost gossamer music in its texture.
In Dream Weaver I found that this one really seemed to add a real depth of healing to the whole experience. The repetitive opening and the higher notes used, once again create an amazing dream scape vista for us all to enjoy, this was one incredible piece.
Water Wheel is up next, try just relaxing and you to will be able, through the music, to perfectly depict a Wheel, maybe one that was once used by a mill, sifting water through it’s great blades, but instead of paints, Landon uses the piano to create that picture for us.
We now come to a track called Perseverance, probably one of the deepest tracks on the album, but the melody lifts the listener to a point of determination. The gentle refrain a third of the way in, allows for a moment of reflection, before pushing on once more, this is a stunning performance by Landon on piano and played with such passion, as well.
Garden of Eden gives us a moment of reverie, there is a level of peace in this piece that manifests an eternity of selfless happiness, we each have our own Garden of Eden and we can return back to that place of sanctuary with ease, with this very track.
Into the Depths, feels like a continuation of the last composition, but with a different scale of imagery and tone, there is much to be enjoyed here, the tempo is so calming, but it also brings forth a well of deep emotion, which through this music, is easier to deal with than you may think. Landon’s playing on this track, flows so serenely, that you cannot fail to be relaxed by its energies.
We come to the penultimate track on the album, it’s called Soaring, Landon now raises the level of mood and adds a little sparkle for good measure, this is Landon back to his New Age piano roots and giving us a really cheer filled piece that would lighten any day that you have, good or not so good.
The last piece is called Shangri-La. The music for me, creates a wonderfully massive soundscape, that plays around me as I begin to feel the grandness of this piece, this is a clever way of leaving the album, manifesting a state of total bliss and calm, in a world of musical wonderment, this is one delicious composition that I will be re-visiting again.
To coin a phrase, Healing Piano of Sedona, does what it says on the can (or cd in this case) You cannot fail to be impressed with the healing properties of this release, as indeed you cannot fail to be impressed by the excellent performance from the master composer and musician we know and love, called Louis Landon.
