Album Notes
This piece begins in retrospective D minor, and proceeds restlessly like a Renaissance lute piece with a clarity only hoped for during later storms of my son’s life. Some sections present structural economy, and others do not. Expressive music techniques of glissando, vibrato, rubato, and note bends, speak of unspeakable emotions. The last note of this work is a G sharp which becomes both a tritone to the opening chord of D, and a leading tone for the first movement of The Peace Concerto, Portraits, as it begins in A Major.
