Album Notes
Lovestory's story starts with two twenty-something women meeting in a hip Seattle restaurant kitchen. Kristi Brown could cook and sing like nobody's business and Elizabeth Woodbury composed continually, whether with a piano or a rolling pin.

Between concocting apple pies and spicy collard greens, the two found time to connect through music and spirituality and realized they had a destiny as a musical duo.

Elizabeth's jazz-informed songwriting and piano work blossoms in perfect sync with Kristi's exquisitely expressive voice, which has all the gut-level power of the best of gospel voices and the added eloquence of a shimmering high range.

Special guest Cliff Lyons on saxophones expands the duo's sound on their first 3 song cassette release, self-titled Lovestory.

Lovestory will be performing again this year at the Northwest Folklife Festival in Seattle! (it's free!)Come check us out at the Mural Ampitheatre Stage on Monday (that's Gospel Monday!) May 27 at 11:40 a.m. to 12:10 p.m. Like last year, the band will include Hans Teuber on reeds, Brandon Milner on percussion, and Lee King singing his heart out, as well as the standard fare--Kristi and Elizabeth. We'll have a couple brand new joyous, inspired tunes for you!

I consider the talent very good and recommend its purchase.
I've purchased the CD and it is something I've played and
played, repeatedly.
The lyrics are thought-provoking, to say the least,
instruments are tasteful and the vocals are as diverse as
the website speaks of.
It is VERY enjoyable listening!

Thank you for this refreshing take on Gospel music! It's good to see artists taking God out of the "traditional" box. The music and composing is soothing and meditative. It's a must-buy for thoes who truely enjoy experiencing a jazzy, melodic side to Gospel!
