ABOUT THIS ALBUM

Album Notes
One of Love Syndicate?s own lyrics best captures why this Philadelphia based band is gaining notice in the world of music:

"When you?re in dire need for something real."

Love Syndicate has been baring its soul all along the East Coast since the band's inception in the fall of 1998. The funk-inspired rhythms, mournful string arrangements and honest lyrics are a true break from the pop norm -- a challenge from Love Syndicate to music itself to embrace passion in every note, in every verse.

They have shared the stage with many national acts, such as Crosby Stills and Nash, Busta Rhymes, and Mike Clark's Prescription Renewal, featuring Fred Wesley of the legendary JB's. In every setting, Love Syndicate has been continually growing a dedicated fan base.

For guitarist and singer Joshua Komorowski, writing and performing music is not a whim, but a personal commitment. Love Syndicate is the realization of his signature sound; they play what he envisions. His presence, talent and poetic sensibility form the core of the band's broad appeal. Whether a solo performance or a legion of players, Love Syndicate never fails to captivate the audience.

wow.
It's very rare for me to find a CD that I can listen straight through without becoming bored; that's why I was so impressed with Tin Angel. The lyrics, the variety of the songs, the music . . . I can listen to it on road trips, to go to sleep, while I study, clean . . . I love it!

incredible, as usual
love syndicate's newest release, tin angel, is as breathtaking and inspiring as their previous albums...i was at this actual performance, and this recording managed to capture one of the best shows i've seen in my life. despite the absence of amazing musicians chris luxton and bobby wolter, this album illustrates that love syndicate is still a strong force in philly, only made stronger by the addition of new talent. the disc boasts a great set list as well, incorporating old favorites with new covers (ain't no sunshine...)...thank you josh and erin and all other musicians on this album.

Can't get enough
Joshua's voice is a mix between Damien Rice and Jack Johnson... not too shabby. This live CD is awesome, the originals are poignant and moving and the Bill Wither's covers are right on! Very folky and soulful.

soulful groove
Recommended to me by Tommy Taylor (www.tommytaylor.us)... Seven Days and Absence are by far my favorites. They leave me with a liquid heart as they fill my day with soulful ambiance. The album spans a wide range of emotions- in lyrics and in style. From dreamy, melodic serenades to gripping rhythmic grooves, the album leaves you full.

Feels like the last good music you will ever hear
From the first soulful note of Shade to the final and funky groove of Rip It Out. Tin Angel takes you in and you do not want to leave. There are few songs that make you shut your eyes and go to another place and time like Sorrow does. Seven Days surprises with the beautiful filling sounds and you are tapping your foot? Ocean is haunting at first, you can hear the exhaustion in Josh as he whispers the lyrics into the microphone then the song builds, powerfully releases, and whispers again. The vocals in this album are never strained. You feel like you have been lucky enough to steal this performance. This collection is wonderful and it captures the power (and some of the grins) of a live Love. Buy this CD.

Great live versions
This cd is awesome. Not only did Love Syndicate pick some of their best songs for the show, the performance was also spectacular. I have seen them live at the Gryphon Cafe in Wayne PA and this cd somehow manages to capture much of the energy they play with live. I certainly reccomend it.
