ABOUT THIS ALBUM

Album Notes
In celebration of 10 years of Low and their hauntingly beautiful music, we gathered together a few of their many friends and fans in order to recreate their entire first record, I Could Live in Hope, which was originally released in 1994. We took the creative liberty by slightly skewing the original tracklisting in order to
include two starkly different versions of the song 'Words'.

Reviews

"A tribute in the best sense of the word, We Could Live in Hope reflects the best in both Low and the bands paying their respects to them."
All Music Guide

"Deeply haunting and experimental statements; you couldn't ask for anything better in a tribute to Low." Ink 19

"Essential for Low fans, and a pretty cool intro for anyone else." Americana UK

"The sentiment is uncomplicated and pure, as this is one of the best compilations that I have heard in a long time. A tribute covered in guaze and dreams." Lost at Sea

"Dig Low, by proxy through this excellent compilation or directly through their own releases. They're a magical band and We Could Live in Hope is a wonderful assessment of their appeal." Stylus

"If you're a Low fan, in these twelve artists you will recognize kindred spirits and in their songs you will feel a glow. If you're new to Low, this album will give you a sense of their songs unique power." Erasing Clouds

"As it goes with all tribute albums, the artists here had to choose between respectful, slightly tweaked mimicry or reinvention. Most chose the former, some chose the latter, and all generally succeeded at making songs that have distinct worth beyond their association with the originals." Splendid Zine
