Album Notes

Lua and her band Twist seek to inspire their audiences with an awareness of the common heritage of humanity. The centerpiece of their new Voyager Project, a music video to Lua’s original song, "Our Common Humanity," premiered in a live concert at the 2018 San Francisco International Arts Festival.

Lua Hadar is a multi-lingual vocalist, emcee and voice actor, a teaching artist and an independent producer. Her lifelong commitment to cultural exchange has been inspired by diverse international collaborations on three continents.

Lua sings her own brand of cosmopolitan jazz with her band, Twist, reaching out with song and story to give audiences a sense of their shared humanity. She brings material from a wide range of cultures and languages into the jazz idiom, twisting the grooves of the source material with her highly skilled band. Her original songs express the values of humanism and equality.

In addition to her world fusion shows, she also performs French and Italian-themed shows at clubs, wineries and events.

Hadar has charmed audiences from New York to Paris to Bangkok and has performed at some of the San Francisco Bay Area’s best venues, including the Fairmont Hotel, Yoshi's Jazz Club, Fort Mason and Feinstein's at the Nikko.
