You are invited into the electrifying world of Black Wedding Dress by Luanne Surace. Experience Luanne's powerful, haunting vocals and a dark, electrifying sonic landscape on these deeply moving original and traditional American roots songs of tortured love and joyous redemption. Luanne's third album, includes new arrangements of the traditional folk, blues, and spirituals "Railroad Boy," "Another Man Done Gone," "In The Pines," "Going Home On The Morning Train," "The Erie Canal" (Thomas S. Allen, Public Domain), "One Morning In May" and "Ain't No Grave." Also featured are Luanne’s original songs "Hello Girl" and "Trouble For Me (Trouble So Hard-Vera Hall)" written with Black Wedding Dress Producer Philip Carroll. Black Wedding Dress was Produced by Philip Carroll, with additional production and mixing by Jimmy Bralower, Jimmy Bralower Productions, Roslyn Heights, New York, and was mastered by Jay Franco at Sterling Sound in New York City. The Black Wedding Dress rock influenced soundscape includes beautifully composed and performed piano and keyboard arrangements, along with driving and evocative drums, hand-drums, djembe, tambourine, guitar, dobro, mountain and hammer dulcimer, banjo, mandolin, mandola, clarinet, violin and viola, autoharp, hand clapping and footstomping. Luanne thanks the many gifted musicians for their wonderful performances on Black Wedding Dress: Philip Carroll, Jimmy Bralower, Michael Presta, Adam Tagliamonte, David Belmont, Stephen Benson, Matthew Pierce, William Ruyle, Robert Brereton, John Benthal and David Hopkins. Black Wedding Dress album was inspired by the black wedding dress garment which was designed and created by Luanne's sister, Celeste Padula, and which won a first prize in the New York State Fair some years ago. Black Wedding Dress cover design, photography of Luanne and art work by Jessica Schmitt features Celeste Padula's black wedding dress. The songs included in this album are all songs which have been handed down through the years. They are rich in musical and historical influence from England, Europe, Africa, the American South, North, East and West. They are songs of love that knows no bounds. They are songs that live on forever. Much creativity by many people has gone into the making of Black Wedding Dress. Luanne is truly grateful to her family and friends and to all who have contributed their talent, time and effort to make Black Wedding Dress. Luanne is especially grateful to Producer Phil Carroll for his work arranging and producing Black Wedding Dress and collaborating on the original songs “Hello Girl” and “Trouble For Me (Trouble So Hard).” Luanne gives a special thank you to Jimmy Bralower for his additional production, perfect mixing and magical touches throughout Black Wedding Dress.
