ABOUT THIS ALBUM

Album Notes
This song was inspired by a dream the singer had back in 1982. Here's how the dream begins.

Both were asleep. Somtime during the early morning the princess had a dream. In the dream the princess sees the prince riding a horse through town. The prince is celebrated by all. There's streamers and confetti and crowds cheering as he rides through the square. The prince is then led to a tower which turns into a gazebo in the sky. I could see him lying down in the gazebo with painted women on either side, lost in the celebration of his success.

The dream changes. The princess looks up toward the sky and while looking up she hears the sound of music coming from a single white cloud. From the center of the cloud the arm of her beloved falls to the ground. Thinking the prince dead she starts to cry. Then she's hears his voice singing from the sky. He sang these words "I'm a shadow looking down into your dream"

The princess awoke and looked over to see herprince still by her side and fast asleep. Little did she know the sorrow experienced in that dream would become a reality.

The following song was inspired by this dream. When your so lonely, you're crying in your sleep. Call my shadow, to keep you company. You don't have to be alone, I'll lay beside you, till your tears are all gone. I'm a shadow looking down into your dream. At Saddened faces, unhappy places that you've seen. Come with me beyoud the mist, Deep inside a lover's last kiss. I'm a shadow, a shadow, a shadow. And only a shadow can see, The sad silloette inside.

A shadow, a shadow like me. Sleeping pashions, slowly fade away. Surendered secrets, that could never face the day, You don't have to be alone, I'll lay beside you till your tears are all gone. I'm a shadow, a shadow, a shadow. And only a shadow can see, The sad silloette inside. A shadow, a shadow a shadow like me. I can inside your life, feel your love, feel your fears, feel you fight feel your heartbeat in the night.

I'm a shadow, a shadow, a shadow. And only a shadow can see, The sad silloette inside you. A shadow, a shadow a shadow, like me.

The man this song was written for did aquire fame in real life. Tragically in the winter of 1992 he shot himself. The lyrics and music are dedicated to Jeffrey Scott Spry who died on Monday, March 9, 1992 from a self inflicted gun shot wound to the body.

Written by his former wife, Lucrecia Sarita Russo 1982

Shadow by Lucrecia
The song is beautiful, the words are beautiful and her voice is mesmerizing. Lucrecia's voice is reminiscent of the singers of Cirque Du Soleil. I thought first the story behind the song may have been contrived, but after listening to Lucrecia sing you could just tell it was honestly inspired by her dream. Thank you Lucrecia for sharing something so personal.
