Album Notes
Canadian pianist Luke Welch was born and grew up in Mississauga, Ontario. He played his first public performance at age seven.

His first private piano instructors include Kyzysztof Jedrysik and Catherine Kuzeljevich, and he later completed Bachelor and Master of Music degrees at the University of Western Ontario in Canada under the tutelage of John-Paul Bracey. Welch has also participated in the classes of distinguished artists including Jean-Bernard Pommier, Cécile Ousset, Dang Thai Son, André Laplante, Jean-Paul Sevilla, and Stéphane Lemelin. In 2004, he made his concerto debut with the Durham Chamber Orchestra, and has since performed with a number of orchestras including Greenway Strings, Mumbles Symphony Orchestra, and Winchmore String Orchestra. He has also performed extensively on the international stage including appearances in Canada, United States, Netherlands, Germany, Italy, England, Scotland,Ireland, and Wales. Highlight performances include recitals at St. Giles' Cathedral in Edinburgh, St. Martin-in-the-Fields in London, Castletown House in Ireland, St. Andrew's-on-the-Terrace in Wellington (NZ), Music Mondays at Holy Trinity in Toronto, Southminster United and Trinity Anglican in Ottawa, FCAP in Amsterdam, and Beethoven Haus in Bonn, Germany.

In 2015, Welch completed his first tour through New Zealand which included performances in Christchurch, Wellington, Taupo, Auckland, and Kerikeri. He has received national and international awards and grants based in North America and Europe. In 2015, Welch also released his debut solo piano album entitled 'The Universal Language' which is also available on CD Baby.
