Album Notes
"Beautiful CD - blessed drops of Bhakti Nectar." - Jai Uttal
"Ned & Lynn create heartfelt kirtan sangha wherever they sing. Their devotional music holds you in an ecstatic loving embrace." - Wah!

Ned & Lynn's sacred chants feature Sanskrit mantras set to original melodies and luscious harmonies. The music is both meditative and joyfully uplifting. Their voices at times sound like one, soaring in ecstatic bliss. Amy Fradon joins them with her beautiful high soprano that calls in the spirit. Ned plays harmonium and other exotic instruments, including the gopichan, and Lynn creates a pulse with her rhythm guitar. They are joined by amazing instrumentalists: Grammy Award winners David Darling on cello and Steve Gorn on Bansuri Flute, Wah! on violin and bass, Jai Uttal on melodica, Daniel Paul on Tabla, John McDowell on African Drums, Randy Sutin on gongs and vibes, Charlie Tokarz on saxophone and bass clarinet, and many other great talents.

These chants represent a form of yoga, called Bhakti Yoga, which is the spiritual practice of love and devotion. The "Treasure" for Ned & Lynn is how the devotion and love continues to expand through the practice of chanting these holy names and energies. "When we sing the names the vibration fills our bodies with the vast presence of love and light. We've fallen in love with this ancient practice of Kirtan, which is a chanting tradition from India. The leaders sing a mantra (a sacred syllable or words which have the potential for spiritual transformation and healing). The group responds, singing the same line. Leaders and audience are joined in a rich exchange of musical and spiritual energy that creates a new level of illumination and enlightenment." Most of the mantras are in Sanskrit, an ancient language from 4th Century BCE that is still actively used in India today. Ned and Lynn invite you to sing along. Their wish is that these chants connect you to the treasure in your heart.

Here's what some have said about the CD:

" Ned and Lynn's new CD, Bhakti Treasure, is a wondrous offering. From the first notes of the tinkling temple bells we feel invited on a sacred journey. Through the beauty and palpable devotion in Ned and Lynn's voices, we hear their genuine aspiration to live the principles these chants invoke. Indeed there is a spiritual gravitas to this duo that allows the listener to enter a space where the stresses of life drop away, replaced by reverence and an invitation to return to the world restored. Bhakti Treasure is Kirtan that unites spirit and emotion, divine and human, masculine and feminine, and joy and sorrow. And with their partnership, Lynn and Ned have broken new ground in the ancient spiritual practice of devotional chanting. This CD is cause for celebration and a call to joyful devotion!" - Gail Straub: Activist, teacher and writer.

Beauty and Peace
There are days when nothing can take the place of listening, and singing along with these chants. Going to the office, coming home eleven hours later -- I need to hear Lynn & Ned and experience their gift that speaks to my heart.
