Album Notes
Lynn Patrick’s instrumental CD, Winnie’s Guitar, includes ten songs, featuring Lynn on guitar. Joe Scott, guitarist from Wind Machine and Eidolen, joins her on three tracks. E-Town’s Chris Engleman plays bass on eight songs, and violinist Lila Sklar adds melodic dimension to track one, "California Zephyr." Fiddle player Gordon Burt, adds the finishing touches with a mandolin part on "Rosewood" and some tuneful fiddling on "Pickin´A." Original cover art is by nationally acclaimed artist Laura Marshall (Ursula LeGuin´s book illustrator of choice.)

Dirty Linen Magazine called, Winnie's Guitar "an absolutely lovely recording." The Denver Post reported, "There’s burnished gold in her guitar playing." And Victory Music Review describes Lynn as "a pretty fine contemporary acoustic guitar player....Patrick shows why she has earned accolades for her guitar work.

Winnie's Guitar won the Independent Music Awards in 2002. Judges included Tom Waites, Ricky Skaggs, Meshell Ndegeocello and Wilson Pickett. The competition was sponsored by The Musician's Atlas and Border Bookstores. Winnie's Guitar was voted best instrumental album by Just Plain Folks Awards 2001 Awards. Of the 35,000 pieces submitted, her song "California Zephyr" was judged best instrumental song. Winnie's Guitar has been on Echoes, an internationally syndicated show from Public Radio International made KGNU's Top 100 Albums the year it was released; and is currently being used for transitional breaks on NPR's All Things Considered, Morning Edition, Talk of the Nation, and Living on Earth.

Help! My brother is trying to steal my new CD!
I love this CD. I played it for my brother (who is a very accomplished acoustic guitarist and teacher) and he loved it, too. He tried to sneak off with it when I wasn't looking.

The music is so soulful and soothing - what a fortunate find!

I'll be needing another copy soon - I am wearing this one out.
This CD just makes me want to relax and smile - the music is so soothing. I am playing it soooo much that I'll probably wear it out and require another copy. Perfect for snowy afternoons nestled inside . . .

Fluid and elegant guitar music...
Lynn Patrick's "Winnie's Guitar" is a beautiful compilation of original, eloquent guitar tunes. It's wonderful to hear a woman's voice communicated through her tasteful guitar playing. Thoroughly enjoyable music!

A huge hit with young and old alike.
I have given this CD to every friend who has had a baby and it is a huge hit everytime. Recently, I started giving it to adults too and they enjoy it equally as much. It is so soothing and gentle, it can quiet the fussiest baby or even the most active minds. Great to fall asleep and wake-up to.

Bob Chapin

NewMellow Music: gentle, fun, sense of fun.
I finally figured out that the signature of this music is the lack of a melody line. With interesting chord progressions, modest energy and fundamentally approachable, this album is above all GENTLE. Digs into your brainstem and won't go away.

Winnie's Guitar
A wonderful listen - soothing, acoustic melodies, chords, and rhythms. A must for anyone who appreciates good songwriting and musicianship!

Yep...this is the good stuff
I play synthesizers and can sound like anything I want. Lynn Patrick plays acoustic guitar and in the length of this CD lays down more musical protein and evokes more pure musical joy than I could produce in a lifetime. Don't miss this one!
