ABOUT THIS ALBUM

Album Notes
Songwriter Matthias Roos from Saarbrücken (Germany) started his solo recording project “Maddes” back in the 90s. The sound changed greatly as Matthias became an active live and studio drummer (Soft Plastic, Captain Volleyball, …). Over the years songs of his EP “All In Due Course” (2007) were remixed by German artists and Matthias contributed vocals to “The Peterman Project” (Skyline Symmetry Collective), a recording band driven by friends from Zaragoza (Spain).

For his self-produced debut album “Fielded”, which was released by Aerostat Records and Ray Recordings in September 2014, he worked together with producer/mixing engineer Filippo Gaetani (Tuscany/Vienna) and long-time bandmate Marco Divic (Vienna).

Maddes’ music floats between acoustic and electronic songwriter pop. Melancholy moments are wafting over a groovy and fresh fundament. Musical influences are The Postal Service, Kings of Convenience, The Notwist, Mike Kinsella, Maritime, Coldplay, Nada Surf, Elliott Smith, …
