Album Notes
Madeline Rae’s songs are sonic quilts; each a pastiche bursting with hope, yearning, regret, and joy, each one a story, celebrated rather than sung. On stage, she gladly wears her heart on her sleeve, daring her audiences to help themselves to a piece—then insisting they come back for seconds.

Whether they end in laughter, farewells, joyful stomps, or a bit of each, her songs are a culmination of her 25 years of life on earth so far. Born in the idyll of eastern PA suburbs--before traversing the state (twice) to grow up in the shadow of the 2nd largest mall in America--her sensibilities contain a sub/urban country aesthetic tinged with a gritty soulfulness. Like her personality, it ranges from downright heartbreaking to an affirmation of life itself. She has called Pittsburgh home for the last six years.

Madeline hopes her honesty and vulnerability paint an empathic picture and give voice to listener’s heartache. But keep listening: that lump in your throat will be supplanted by whoops, hollers, and celebrations. For Madeline Rae, redemption, like a sunrise, is always just one song away.

Pittsburgh Post-Gazette (on August 20th Release):

She'll be accompanied by a band of kindred spirits who have promised to assist the singer in transporting the audience to a place bursting with hope, yearning, regret, and joy--and bring them back again, a bit more alive, their wanderlust recharged.
