Album Notes
Playing jazz charts in and out of college bands for over five years, Mad Malcolm only recently began to produce original music. In the early years he spent time working for Ervin Entertainment in a basement studio creating Hip-Hop and R&B beats and background tracks. During this time he decided to continue on with jazz studies and to pursue his own material. With only a minor in Music at Eastern Washington University, and a major in Marketing, Mad Malcolm took a love of music into the studio. He began using Sonic Foundry's Acid Music for sampling and sequencing and the beats just seemed to flow from his fingers. Samples and loops were the palette through which he could work. Drawing from a diverse listening background that included anything from Duke Ellington to James Brown to Tribe Called Quest to Prodigy and Chemical Brothers to Mozart to pretty much anything that fit his mood, Mad Malcolm madly began purchasing loop CD's and even generated original samples with which he could work. In creative fits that sometimes last until 4am he blends these random samples into creative expressions, soundscapes and funky beats...

Energy. Music. Technology. The result of that synergy is Mad Malcolm Productions, Inc.

And it's just beginning...

Atta Boy
This hipster is gaga over these tracks. Evocative, mood setting, they take you to a scene. This man is a painter. So far, mostly landscapes. A portrait will ensue when he finds the right voice. I relish watching the evolution.

Get lost in a sea of tranquility
VERY "Emerald City" and "Journey Into This". A great mix between tranquil grooves and trance beats.

So Fresh 'n So Clean
This CD has some beautifully clean production. Each track seamlessly flows into the next. A special highlight is the intro to "Emerald City." It left me stunned and breathless while it drew me into the song, stranding me in a sea melting sunset melodies. This is a CD that forces you to listen end-to-end with its sweeping soundscapes and dramatic rhythms: plan accordingly.

Great album, nice style and fun
This CD is quite well done. "She Said Yes" and "Totally Alone" are both great tracks. Upbeat and fun tracks are found as well as more mellow downtempo stuff when you need to chill. Mostly HNRG great for driving!

You love to move, you'll love this
Kept me moving from beginning to end. A must have for any prefunk, funk, postfunk party collection.

nice variety and styles of party music
Great album, with nice variety in styles. Good for party listening--favorite cuts: Dry Rain and Totally Alone.
