ABOUT THIS ALBUM

Album Notes
The earlier version of this album was the 30 year anniversary of our first LP in 1975. With the discovery of a unfinished project from the mid-1970's thought lost forever, work began which resulted in "Yesterday's Children" in 2005. However, time is the judge of quality in any presentation and the band decided it could be improved. In 2008 MagellanMusic set about making several changes - the playlist, new songs added, some removed, remixing every song, a different production process - what you have in your hands is not the album it once was. "Yesterday's Children (V.2)" is matured offspring, a great example of the mindful intent MagellanMusic always has. These are songs about heart, soul, love, hope, willpower, courage, dreams, mysticism - a groove all its own, the reasons we live, the spirit of imagination. This is MagellanMusic.

Excellent
Very surprising band. They have an odd but original sound, every song is good, but “Eternity of Light” so good that I want to hear it over and over, the song “Someone” nearly the same. The whole cd is highly commendable.

YC V.2
This album is even more cool than the original YC! The tunes will carry you away farther than the original version...to a more distant place...to a place of supreme groovin'!

YESTERDAYS CHILDREN
BRAND NEW? YES. MAGELLANMUSIC? ABSOLUTELY! STILL THE BEST HOMEGROWN, UNDERGROUBD, ILLRREVEREANT SOUND OF ITS KIND. I'VE BEEN A FAN FOR YEARS AND LOVE IT. ITS JUST SIMPLY THE GREATEST.

First class
And I thought the original was good. If you like a retro-70's sound this is perfect. There's not a bad song on it, and the more I listen the more I think it's a classic already.

Yesterdays Children (v.2)
Excellent!!! This is one fantastic CD. This new version is nothing short of a masterpiece. It will touch your heart. I've played this almost non-stop, and don't grow tired of the soft, comforting sound and wonderfully soothing vocals. Put it on, lay back and just let the music take you into a dream...This is a must have. You will absolutely love this cd!

A nice surprise
Everything MagellanMusic does is good, but this one is a bit different. It's powerful, has an 'angry' feel in some places but very smooth in others. "Long Is The Night" is so gripping I can't stop thinking about it. A sign o' the times maybe? Excellent cd and highly recommended.

They did it again
I liked the first version of this album, but V.2 is an amazing improvement. Sound quality is fantastic. All the songs are good but 'Eternity of Light' just blew me away. This could almost be called a masterpiece.

Not prepared
I was surprised by their 'Ghost of a Living Twilight' cd, but this is even more unexpected. Not at all like the other. It sounds more contemporary, but more fervent, explorative. I found lyrics on their website and see that these as more daring, more social, not so inward. Long Is The Night was truly chilling.

A cut above
Remarkable CD. Lite Prog, very professional, songs are powerful, immediately memorable, to the point, in various genres, including 3 noteworthy cover songs, and perhaps best of all, their sound is original and unmistakable. This is a CD with meat on its bones.

The test of time
To me the true test of music is how it weathers time. The reason bands like Pink Floyd, Moody Blues, Jimi Hendrix, Janis Joplin, and the list could go on, are still as popular today as they were decades ago, is because their music is literally timeless. It is the quality of their musicianship as well as writing talents that have helped their music to stay fresh and alive all these years later.

Yesterday's Children passes the test of time, for me, with flying colors, almost literally.

I own the first YC and will keep it because it is MM through the years; raw, young, aspiring, growing into their musical talents. But YC V.2 has taken MM into their element of original music with thought provoking lyrics and music.

I am not a musician, however I am someone whose passion is music. I love to be able to put on a really good pair of stereo headphones, not those silly little earbuds kids wear nowadays, and sit in an atmosphere of quiet, candle-lit, and even a little incense where I can sit back and let the music take me to wherever my mind cares to travel. Yesterday's Children, V.2 takes me on a wondrous journey.

Even the three cover pieces, 'I am the Walrus', 'I Only Have Eyes For You' and 'Love Is All Around' would make the original artists smile to hear how amazing another interpretation of their music can be.

This is truly an album that any and everyone who loves good music should have. It will survive the test of time.
