Deep Resonance

by Mala Waldron

C. Michael Bailey (All About Jazz) calls this CD, "Richly crepuscular and emotive." JazzdaGama.com says, "she sings in a silken contralto with a whispering vibrato so apt for the sensuous, soulful songs that she composes ... she is THE artist to watch."

Album Notes
Jazz, soul with a touch of latin flavor! "Deep Resonance" is an engaging collection of tunes, mostly original plus Waldron's take on a Joni Mitchell song, "Jericho." The album evokes the feeling of being in an intimate setting as this soulful songstress performs just for you. This set consists mainly of duos with added percussion (Jonathon Peretz) on two tracks. Delightful performances abound by Allen Won (bass flute), Vincent Gardner (trombone), Akua Dixon (cello) & Maurizio Rolli (fretless bass.)

Deep Resonance

A Great EP
Playing the Deep Resonance EP. So nice! Very rich, very personal, and very intimate; it invites self reflection as you listen. There is also an airiness that allows you move freely through the music and lyrics. Kick back with your favorite beverage, dim the lights and get lost in the music. Looking forward to more Mala!
